Born in 1987 in Trieste, Christian Federici made his debut in 2016 as Count of Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro by W. A. Mozart at Teatro Bonci in Cesena directed by Matelda Cappelletti and conducted by Claudio Desderi with whom he had studied at the School of Music in Fiesole. In October 2017 he returned to Teatro Bonci singing the title role in Mozart's Don Giovanni (Desderi/Cappelletti).
In 2018 he won the competitions of Teatro Lirico Sperimentale "Adriano Belli" in Spoleto and "Toti Dal Monte" in Treviso, which resulted in further performances as Count of Almaviva in Treviso, Jesi and Ferrara (Alapont/Bellotto). He recently made his debut in France singing this role at the Opéra de Marseille (Shanahan/Boussard).
In concert he has sung Mozart's Krönungsmesse, Charpentier's Te Deum and Messe de Minuit, Bach's Magnificat, Rutter's Mass of the children and given recitals of Mahler's Kindertotenlieder and Schubert's Winterreise with several pianists such as Eugenio Milazzo, Filippo Gorini, Alessandro Pierfederici and Riccardo Risaliti.
Christian Federici started studying piano at the age of six, receiving diplomas from the Conservatories "G. Tartini" in Trieste and "J. Tomadini" in Udine. He also studied the organ, becoming organist in the Patriarchal Basilica of Aquileia. In 2013 he graduated in Computer Science at the University of Udine. He began studying voice in 2015 with pianist Sabina Arru and then with the tenor Federico Lepre. He has taken part in masterclasses, courses and workshops held by Claudio Desderi, Matelda Cappelletti, Francesca Patanè, Karen Stone, Alessandro Svab, Lucia Mazzaria, Lorenzo Regazzo, Rolando Panerai and Patrizia Ciofi.
Recent performances include Belcore in Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore for the Piccolo Festival of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the contemporary opera Tancredi appresso al combattimento (C. Ambrosini – 2017) at the Cantiere Internazionale di Montepulciano, Uberto in Pergolesi's La serva padrona in Arezzo, Morales in Bizet's Carmen for the Ravenna Festival (Ovodok/Micheletti) with performances in Ravenna, Ferrara and Lucca and Steno in Donizetti's Marino Faliero at the Donizetti Festival in Bergamo (Frizza/Ricci).
Plans include Sharpless in Puccini's Madama Butterfly for Opéra de Avignon and Angelotti in Puccini’s Tosca at the Royal Opera House in London.
