Born in 1987 in Trieste, Christian Federici studied piano from the age of six. After a graduation in Computer Science he began studying opera singing in 2015 with the tenor Federico Lepre, then with Claudio Desderi at the School of Music of Fiesole, Patrizia Ciofi and Gianfranco Montrésor.
He made his debut in 2016 as Count of Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro in Cesena, conducted by Claudio Desderi, with whom he did Don Giovanni (as title-role) in 2017.
After winning international competitions of Teatro Lirico Sperimentale “Adriano Belli” in Spoleto and “Toti Dal Monte” in Treviso (2018) he sang Nozze di Figaro in Treviso, Jesi and Ferrara as Count of Almaviva, role played also in 2019 with his debut in France at the Opéra de Marseille.
From 2019 to 2021 he joined reknown festivals in Italy, such as Ravenna Festival, as Morales in Bizet’s Carmen, Donizetti Festival in Bergamo for the opera Marino Faliero, Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago as Angelotti in Tosca, and performed Jake Wallace in Puccini’s La fanciulla del West in Pavia, Como and Cremona.
In 2021 he made his debut at the Opera Hong Kong and Opéra Grand Avignon as Sharpless in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly.
He recently sung the role of Turbo in the contemporary opera Hadrian by Rufus Wainwright at Teatro Real de Madrid, Escamillo in Bizet’s Carmen in Kiel, Mozart's Don Giovanni (as title-role) and Così fan tutte (Don Alfonso) in Ravenna, Rimini and Salerno, Roberto in Verdi's I vespri siciliani at Teatro Alla Scala Milan, Figaro in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro in Catania and Marcello in Puccini's La bohème in Ravenna and Rimini.
Appreciated also in chamber music, he did several recitals of Schubert’s Winterreise, Schumann’s Dichterliebe, Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder and performed in concert Mozart’s Krönungsmesse, Charpentier’s Te Deum and Messe de Minuit, Bach’s Matthäuspassion and Rutter’s Mass of the Children.
Plans include Marcello in Puccini's Boheme in Lucca, Ferrara and Pisa, Riccardo in Bellini's I puritani in Catania and Scarpia in Puccini's Tosca at Opèra Grand Avignon.
